Frequently Asked Questions

How do I start a focus session?

Click the FlowClock icon in your Chrome toolbar, then click "Start Focus" for an unlimited session, or choose a preset duration (30m, 1h, 2h, 3h).

Can I pause my timer?

Yes! Click the "Pause" button or press the Space bar. Your timer will pause and won't count that time toward your focus session. Press "Resume" or Space bar again to continue.

How do break timers work?

During a focus session, click any of the Quick Break buttons (1m, 5m, 10m, 20m, or Custom). Your focus session will pause automatically and resume when the break ends.

What does the efficiency percentage mean?

Efficiency shows your productive focus time divided by total session time (including pauses and breaks). Higher percentages mean fewer interruptions.

Where is my data stored?

All your data is stored locally in your Chrome browser. Nothing is sent to external servers or the cloud. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Can I clear my data?

Yes. Click the settings icon (⚙️) in the popup, then scroll down and click "Clear All Data". This will reset all your timer history and settings.

Why aren't I getting sound notifications?

Check that:

  • Sound notifications are enabled in FlowClock settings (⚙️ icon)
  • Chrome notifications are allowed for FlowClock
  • Your system volume is turned up
  • Chrome has permission to show notifications in your OS settings

What are the keyboard shortcuts?

  • Space: Pause/Resume current session
  • Escape: Stop current session
  • Enter: Start new focus session (when no session is active)

Does FlowClock work offline?

Yes! FlowClock works completely offline since all data is stored locally on your device.
